His dad was a P.E. teacher at Chaparral Middle School for thirty years, so the boys were introduced to a lot of sports growing up, which created a passion for playing. Mr. Geary’s parents also ran Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Chaparral. He grew up learning a lot about the Bible, and it was in sixth grade that his faith was authenticated for himself. In eighth grade, Mr. Geary evangelized to his soccer teammates for the first time, and that was when he first really felt his call to ministry and teaching. He has had a burning passion to share the hope of the Gospel with the lost since then. In high school, Mr. Geary started a Bible study to reach his classmates for Christ and was truly humbled how God moved through that group. This created an opportunity to serve at church as the youth pastor for two years. He is passionate about relating to students and seeing churched students experience God’s heart-transforming power and move beyond just head knowledge but apply it to become disciples who make disciples. He is also passionate to see un-churched students experiencing the love and grace of Jesus for the first time. After his time working as a youth pastor, God directed his path to Imago Dei. He is truly grateful to be a part of a staff that is just as passionate about students and to be in such a spiritually edifying experience.
